The Evil Old Hag Who Lives Down the Street

I asked the sixth grade class to write stories with magical or mysterious characters, and so far the results have been remarkable!  Over the next several days, I will highlight some of their stories for you; not surprisingly, many of them chose to write about witches and strange creatures.  Today, I want to share Kiairah's.  She writes well, uses good details, and even has a surprise at the end!

The Evil Old Hag Who Lives Down The Street

By:  Kiairah
Starring: Alexis
as the Old Hag

Once-upon-a-time there was a nice couple who had just moved into a new neighborhood. There were only a few houses, but nobody lived in them except one at the end of the street. That was the Old Hag’s house.

Everybody was scared of her; “She’s bewitched!” said one. “She will put a curse on you,” said another. Nobody has ever made any sociable contact with her, but they think she is the meanest most ugliest person they have ever seen. They didn’t know her; they didn’t know her story.

So the couple (Kim and Tim) were being evicted from their old house, so they needed to find a new one quick. There was an old listing for an old house on the corner of “Convict Street” and the street that had the county jail on it. So they bought it and moved in as soon as they could. It took them a long time to, but eventually they were finished. The house’s outside look terrible and spooky, but the inside looked ten times better.

After a few months the Old Hag wasn’t heard of. One day she suddenly popped by to give some cookies. “She seemed nice,” Kim said after the Old Hag left. She reached for a cookie. “Well I still don’t trust her!” said Tim. “Stop!!!!” screamed Tim as he slapped the cookie out of Kim’s hand. “What!!!???” Kim yelled at Tim. “She could have poisoned those!” “Yeah right,” said Kim as she picked up another one.

THE NEXT DAY

“We should go over and see “The Old Hag’s house,”” said Kim as she got her purse. “I don’t think thats a good idea,” said Tim as he took Kim’s purse from her. “Fine! I will just leave my purse here then!” she said as she slammed the door behind her. After a few hours Tim got worried so he decided  to go over there. He pounded on the door. “Open Up!!!” he hollered.

Kim opened the door. “WHAT???!!!!!!!!” she shouted. “Well... I...... thought....... you... were.... hurt!” said Tim.  “Just come inside and you’ll see,” said Kim; as they walked inside, there in her chair “The “NICE” old hag” was drinking tea and petting her cats (of whom she has 107). “This is why she doesn’t go out much,” said Kim as she bent down to pry a cat off of her foot. “Well, I have heard of people saying that she was bewitched?!” said Tom, as he tried to avoid the situation.

So in the end they all became good friends; after a while the couple had kids. The Old Hag asked to have her grandchildren come live with her, and they said “YES!!!!” So while they lived with her, they played with Kim and Tim’s kids all the time.

So in the end everybody lived happily ever after.
